Specifically, VERA – VPEL invite research and topical presentations that actively explore the interests of those who are served by the educational community in Virginia and beyond.
In addition to longstanding topics of interest to the profession, we welcome submissions that promote critical discussions of the relationships among class, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, and other structures of inequality. We also welcome interdisciplinary, multi-disciplinary, and disciplinary explorations.
Conference participants will address, through scholarship and conversation, issues in education as perceived and conceived by those working and thinking about the experiences of teachers and learners in all fields of education (PK through graduate school, and everything in between).
Proposals may focus on methods of identifying how students may be affected by the changing environments of educational practice, and ideas for assisting educators and students be more successful, creative and impactful in those environments.
