VERA Annual Conference
Sept. 16, 2022
All proposals are due by July 31st, 2022.
The Virginia Educational Research Association, in trying to attract a large audience with attendees representing a broad range of experiences and job roles, promotes a general theme. This may ensure that the conference focuses on the wide range of research and field work throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and the nation. To that end, VERA invites proposals for research and paper presentations, a symposium, and interactive presentation from scholars, practitioners, and graduate students.
Specifically, VERA invites research and topical presentations that actively explore the interests of those who are served by the educational community in Virginia and beyond. In addition to longstanding topics of interest to the profession, we welcome submissions that promote critical discussions of the relationships among class, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, and other structures of inequality. We also welcome interdisciplinary, multi-disciplinary, and disciplinary explorations.
Conference participants will address, through scholarship and conversation, issues in education as perceived and conceived by those working and thinking about the experiences of teachers and learners in all fields of education (PK through graduate school, and everything in between).
Proposals may focus on methods of identifying how students may be affected by the changing environments of educational practice, and ideas for assisting educators and students be more successful, creative and impactful in those environments.
