VERA Annual Conference
The Virginia Educational Research Association (VERA) is pleased to announce its Annual Conference: Educational Research and Practice Across Virginia.
Research and paper presentations, symposia, and interactive presentations related to this theme are invited from scholars, practitioners, and graduate students. Given the broad theme, research and topical issues from any area of education are welcome.
The Association will consider all manners of current and worthy research, papers, symposia, and novel approaches to presenting research and highlighting issues on any topic in education. All papers are peer-reviewed on their merit.
VERA attracts a diverse audience with attendees representing a broad range of experiences and job roles. This ensures that the conference focuses on the wide range of research and field work throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and nation. To that end, VERA invites proposals for research and paper presentations, symposia, and interactive presentation from scholars, practitioners, and graduate students.
Specifically, VERA invites research and topical presentations that actively explore the interests of those who are served by the educational community in Virginia and beyond. In addition to longstanding topics of interest to the profession, we welcome submissions that promote critical discussions of the relationships among class, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, and other structures of inequality. We also welcome interdisciplinary, multi-disciplinary, and disciplinary explorations.
Conference participants will address, through scholarship and conversation, issues in education as perceived and conceived by those working and thinking about the experiences of teachers and learners in all fields of education (PK through graduate school, and everything in between).
Proposals may focus on methods of identifying how students may be affected by the changing environments of educational practice, and ideas for assisting educators and students be more successful, creative and impactful in those environments.
There will be panel discussions about trending topics in educational research. In addition, there will be special topics for graduate students on sharing your research, publications, and presenting your work.
Dr. Nick Fuhrman, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Professor, Professor of Environmental Education, University of Georgia
